Britney Spears is Married!
Britney Spears is no longer “not a girl, not yet a woman,” but a married woman! On June 9, 2022, at her home in California, Spears married her boyfriend of five years, Iranian-American model and actor Sam Asghari. The happy couple met on the set of Spears’ music video for her song “Slumber Party (feat. Tinashe)” in 2016 and got engaged in September of 2021. After Spears’ family took advantage of her with her highly publicized 13 year conservatorship, she and her new husband signed a prenup prior to the wedding so that her assets would be protected. Although Spears immediate family members including her two kids, sons Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline, were not at the wedding, it seemed to be an incredibly intimate, happy occasion.
There were 60 guests in attendance including Paris Hilton, Madonna, Selena Gomez, Donatella Versace, Drew Barrymore, Kathy Hilton, and more. The pop singer wore a custom Atelier Versace wedding gown and reportedly changed three times throughout the event. According to People, Paris Hilton stated on her This is Paris Podcast that she, "was actually asked to DJ for the president and all of the other presidents from around the world for the dinner, but this was more important to me.” Additionally, People reported that Spears walked herself down the aisle to Elvis Presley’s classic “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and “the couple exchanged custom bands by Stephanie Gottlieb.” Wishing Spears and Asghari all the best in their marriage!
